Can I listen to YouTube music with the screen off on my Motorola Droid?

My question is:

Can I just listen to YouTube music with the screen/display turned off, so it does not use a lot of battery power?

Is this method I'm using consume a lot of battery power, as compared to if the music was stored on my phone?

Seems like if I'm on youtube and try to turn the screen off by pushing the on/off button, it turns youtube off.

Any suggestions/comments?

same reason you cant watch a video you recorded in the galley and turn off your screen..

The reason is because these are not Audio Files, they are Video Files and without the Video there is no Audio. There are apps that let you download the YouTube Video or just the Audio, rename it and save it to your Music Collection

i understand why, but i think we should be able to. i hate iphone, but i have to say it... the iphone can do this..
