can i use nandroid backup to back to 2.3.34 or do i have to sbf

all instructions given in all the forums about the release of GengerBread for Dx/D2

clearly states that when you flash to Gingerbread and you want to go back to what ever Froyo based custom Rom you were running, you have to .SBF
..so the Botton line is.....YOU HAVE TO .SBF IN ORDER TO GO BACK TO FROYO...

Correct you will need to sbf to get back to 2.2.1. Takes about 10 min after you have downloaded rsd, drivers and the sbf.

hey tac??
one qeustion i haven't played with SBF in while, which file was the one that has be flashed first? the system only which i remember correctly is about 280mb and the other sbf file which is about 434mb

i vaguely remember that one had to be downloaded before the other...

flashed it now im stuck in a boot loop. pulled battery and same thing
edit: went into android system recovery and wiped data and cache that fixed it

Its going to be the larger sbf. It can be found at mydroidworld. I had trouble with the system only.
