Hello all! Just curious about rooting the Droid 2 - I don't have one but could not resist going to my local Verizon to play with the floor model 
First thing I did was power it down and then back on holding up on the keypad arrow (forget what the mode is called) and then powering up holding down the x key. After doing that with the x key, it booted into Android Recovery and had very similar look/options as SPRecovery including the "Installed .zip from sd card" option. Does that mean a custom ROM would work on it?
