can u remove icon from app drawer but keep app installed and useable?

I would think the only way this would be possible would be if you rooted your phone. However, I don't even think anyone has done such a thing even in custom ROM's out there.

I think I read one of the home replacements could do something along these lines (panda maybe?).

Panda home lets you hide apps from the app drawer.

Panda Home will do that but I gave up on it because it was just too unstable for me.
