Can you switch between running programs

When I am using a program and get interrupted by another program, how can I get my focus back to the original program? Kind of like an alt-tab action from Windows. I would like to be able to scroll through the running programs until I get to the one I want and then continue on what I was doing before.

hold the home key. Should bring up your most recent apps ran.
