Cannot activate

I have an HTC Incredible that is rooted with 2.2 loaded on it, i did a hard reset because of some issues with freezing...once the phone came up it wants me to touch the droid to activate but i have a triangle by my bars of signal and cannot go any farther. When i press the droid and it goes to the call for activation the mute and speaker icons are greyed out and where the image of a droid normally would be is just a gray box too...Any suggestions on how to fix this?
