Cannot update to 2.2 (Incredible)

I've tried the OTA update, manual update, factory reset and then updating and nothing works. When I install the OTA, it freezes and displays the exclamation. When I try to install it via the boot menu it aborts during the installation.

Am I ever going to get the update to work? ;~;

I used to b rooted if that helps at all

what error are you getting? my Droid is doing the same thing with the FRG22D.

Here's what happens

volume down + power

says something about wrong image.

Recovery, apply patch
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system?app/HtcTwitter.apk" and a whole bunch of numbers
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.


So is this a bad patch or something? I've tried a few now.
