Cant decide on a phone.

Well moving from tmobil to verizion this month and I can not decide on a phone. The choices were incredible, droid x, and the new samsung. I pretty much ruled out the droid incredible. Dont think it is powerful enough and wifey wants that one. That leaves the droid x and the fascinate. I have used many droids and smart phones in the past such as the iphone,my touch 3g slide, nexus one, blackberry storm, bold, palm centro, and many others. Moving from tmobile I have free navigation and wondering if any of these include it also. I have held both the phones and can handle the sizes no problem.

Id say go with the fascinate. The only thing you're getting the X over the fascinate is the .3" more screen, hdmi (I wouldn't use it), and a camera with 3 more megapixels which don't equal better pictures. I would go with the Fascinate because the screen is 900 times better than lcd, its easily rootable, and the processor is a little better than the X. Bing isn't an issue since google search and navigation can be downloaded from the market. If for some reason u can't download google search, you can root and get it from there.

I have the same problem, only I'm currently a Verizon customer with the original Droid, still the best btw lol. But I've been holding out for something better then what's currently out there. So with new HTC phones coming out in the near future, ill be holding out for the leaked mysterious evo-nexus one phone, it just looks that good

If you like the screen quality go with the Fascinate. It is 100x better than the Droid. You won't be disappointed with it.

It also will have this...

“Verizon will also be making available a wide range of accessories for their Galaxy S, the most notable of which is a 2200 mAh extended battery. This will probably require a different battery cover as well, and will make your device thicker, but hey, with such capacity, your Fascinate may even last you two full days no matter what kind of usage you throw at it. Which may just be unprecedented in the Android world.”

I have the Droid I as well, and am coming up for an upgrade around Thanksgiving. I am leaning toward the X, since my wife has one, I have been playing with it a bit and like it a lot. I like the memory it comes with, the screen size and the quality of the camera; it takes much better pictures than mine. That being said, I plan on looking at what is available at the time I upgrade, so I'm in the same boat you are in. I may be spending most of that afternoon in the Verizon store.:)

Let me add, welcome to the Verizon/Droid family.

Edited because I just saw this:

"Unfortunately, not all is peachy when wireless carriers and handset makers start messing with the stock Android experience. Reviews of the Fascinate by Slashgear and Engadget note that the phone uses Bing as its default search engine, not Google - probably more fallout from the cozy Bing-Verizon relationship. That wouldn't be so egregious if you could switch search widgets at will, but alas, the only way to remove Bing is by hacking the phone."

If true, this will steer me away from the Fascinate.

I have the DX and love it; I wasn't a fan of the other devices vzw had. My only advice is to just go play with them.

Decided to go with he Fascinate because of e buy one get one free. Over the phone they gave me both phones for 199.00 plus tax and no rebates.
