I've had this problem on many devices and ROMs. The answer has almost always been the same -- back-up all SDcard data -- low-level format it, then restore data -- presto chango -- it'll work!dancedroid

What's the best way to do a Sdcard data backup & format?

Depends. Recent M$ OS like Vista and 7 seem to put a spin of FAT32 that Android/some cards/some card readers don't like. I usually use gparted in linux or the android/the phone itself
