Can't find a way to send pics to contact's e-mail instead of phone number?

I have a contact where I have both his phone number and his e-mail, and I can't seem to find a way to send it to his e-mail while I try to use the method Share > Messaging. Only works for when I go to his contact, and MSG his E-mail. Is this the only way?!
