Cant find my trash icon

I have been trying to get rid of some of the icons on my home pages but i cannot find the trash icon. Ive looked through all 5 screens and it is nowhere to be found. Any suggestions where to find it? i have an LG Optimus V phone

Long press and hold the icon you want gone. The trashcan icon only shows up when you move icons.

And its at the bottom of the screen. When you long press an icon your app drawer turns into the trash can.
