just did an 'update' on my droid this a.m. it didn't seem optional - something kept pooping up asking me to do the update. wish i could undo it, but i don't see an opt for that.

problem is i can't find one 'page' of my apps (i have 2, plus the homescreen) now. the apps are all still there in the hard drive & i did see them briefly, but i don't know how to access them anymore. there is no tab to scroll - only a little tile icon, which toggles me between my homescreen & one page of my shortcuts. v. frustrated with this update. argh! somebody please help!!

Do you see some dotted lines and a tab at the bottom of the screen? Click that.

I think you just are on the wrong screen. This is a great update. If you still can't find your apps go to the Market and press menu button and downloads. You will see everything there. It's probably in the process of reloading.

i figured it out

thanks! i figured it out. after you hit that icon you mentioned, you have to scroll down (rather than up!) really hard somewhere on the background of the page (placing your fingertip between the icons). what a PITA! i liked the old version with the little tab to grab (and pull up)!

i hope this version (2.2) has some benefits... looks like i can move/save apps to the ext drive, which is great!

how do i move the app icons around so i don't have to scroll thru to the 2nd page for some of the apps i use more than others? i tried drag n drop - that didn't work...
thanks!

Go to the icon of the app you want to move to your home screen and just long press on it. It will go to the front page of your home screen, provided there is room.

You have 5 screens now, if you scroll left or right you will see the other home screens. If you're out of space on the main home screen use one of the other home screens.

The link below will show you exactly what this update does.

I hate this new update! The tab on the bottom of the screen was much better to get to the apps. It tskes several strokes, (clicks) to get to the apps instead of just scrolling up. Bummer.

The update is faster if you haven't noticed already.dancedroid

Clicking a square taking longer than clicking a rectangle?

How Do Put Shortcuts

how do i put my shortcuts on the homescreens on the left and right? mine are empty... i should have them accessible by clicking on the buttons with 2 dots..
thanks!

open app drawer, long press an app, and it will close the apps drawer and let you place it.

itd help to read the manual that came with the phone for simple questions like this..

My Droid didn't come with a manual or user's guide. Not sure why but it only came with a very brief 'getting started ' booklet. Frustrating!
