Can't flash phone/install new roms

I'm sure if this a common issue or not, did a search and couldn't find anything. Anyways I am currently running rubix focused 1.8.6, rooted with z4. It was working fine for a while but lately the phone has been randomly crashing and half of my apps will not update in the market. I also have never been able to install a new rom due to not being able to get to the recovery screen. I tried to flash the phone through red, but it fails halfway through. I'm using windows 7 on vmware if that helps any. Are there any ideas on how I can flash my phone or atleast put a new Roman on, I would really like 2.3 sometime

Use the linux sbf method. Search for, it's here. That'll get you back to 2.3.340. To enter bootloader hold both volume keys and power on at the same time. When the M logo flashes release and you should be in bootloader.

Ill give it a shot tonight, the issue with my bootloader is that when I got to install a Roman, it crashes during install
