Can't get my Droid to factory reset

I've been having issues wiht my Droid 2 (see my other thread) and finally gave in, decided to try a factory reset... but it wont' work?

I can get to the screen with the triangle and Droid guy, but that's all... can't do anything from there. I tried the magnifying glass on the slide keyboard, as well as the one on the touch screen, and nothing happens???

Usually you have to hit either or both the volume keys to get past that. It can be different for each phone, og droid was vol down. For my droid 3 I just mash both volume keys cause I forget what it is.

Volume keys don't do anything, either (nor does either volume key with the camera button)

It's volume up and down keys at the same time, just mash them together untill it responds... it will eventually. (I just wait 15 secondish, and then do it and it usually comes up)
