Can't get the cover off the droid.

When I bought my Droid, the guy threw in the plastic cover for free and snapped them on for me. Well, I need to take it off (mainly just the top one) so I can put the protector sheet on the face, but for the life of me, I cannnot remove the top on. Can someone help me? I don't want to force it open and inadvertently break or scratch my droid.
