Can't long press to do anything

On my Hero with the latest 2.1-1 firmware, I can't get long press to work.
For example, if I try to remove a bookmark, I long press and the entire widget gets highlighted, and delete removes the widget. Or else I get a "complete this action using Browser or LastPass pops up. And I can't seem to enable the bookmarks (without selecting one) so that I can get into the menu to edit the list manually.
The interface really sucks.

Join the club. Dont know why prople still buy Androids. This is absolutely my last. My Razr is a virtual paperweight now! Crashes 5 times a day, lags, and has lost a ton of functionality. Google is in way, way, way over their heads. They should have stuck to what they know - pay for clicks. Not operating systems. I'm PISSED!
