can't open attachments

I cant open attachments. I cant even click on the attachments. Using Gmail, accessed another email account on the browser, still nothing. I have a motorola droid.

You need to long press on the attachment. Long pressing should bring up a pop up menu.

What's in the attachment, do you know?

I have pressed on it, but it does not do anything. I just went back in and it has a preview button now (i think after an update?). When I press the preview button it tells me it is not supported for viewing. It is pbd files. I have the palm book reader downloaded.

Well, you could try to use gmail on line to open the file, and then put it on your SD card.

It's the only idea I can come up with. It's probably not the right one but I have not experienced this issue and I'm unfamiliar with the app that you're speaking about.

Hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

Many attachments will not download from google through the app. You need to access your account through your browser and THEN you can download them. They will save to your download folder on your SD card.

Alternatively, try k-9 mail. It'll let you download attachments as well.

I had this problem with Gmail, the Preview option said it was downloading and nothing happened. I fixed it as follows: settings > applications > Manage Applications > Gmail > Clear Data.

WARNING: The above worked for me with no ill effect, but I suppose there is some risk of losing GMail data that is only on your Droid. Make sure your web Gmail account is current.
