Can't set personalized notification tone

I look and look, but I cannot seem to change my text-message, email, overall notification tone to anything but what was pre-installed on my Droid. Anyone able to change theirs to a non-installed MP3?

Get a file explorer and look up the tone you made. Hold down your finger on the item and a menu should pop up. I believe there should be a "set as tone" option.

I put my files in /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones and it appears in my Ringtone list. Put it in /sdcard/media/auido/notifications and well.. it shows up in the notification list.

Download the RINGDROID app<------------ when your done making the ringtone it gives you the option to save it as eaither, ring tone, or notification tone,my notification tone is the one from the show "24".
