Cant Sync my facebook account!

ok i just switched from the A855 droid to the incredible. and i like having my facebook friends pictures pop up on my contacts. but everytime i go to setup facebook it says, The service is currently unavailable, would you like to try again. its SO FRUSTRATING.

I read on HTC's website's forum that it's a problem on all the HTC phones, not just the incredible. Allegedly they are working to fix it...

Me too & just recently

Same issue after Factory Reset yesterday (2nd time in 3 weeks) on Droid Incredible.

After Factory Reset 3 weeks ago, had no problem, all FB friends' pics were synced with people/contacts.

Whatever went wrong was in the last 3 weeks, will have to try to find - jacob083's reference to HTC site.

ALL of us with this problem need to email & call HTC if this is actually their issue & not Verizon or FB.

It's ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE considering cost of phone.

I emailed HTC yesterday about the issue, and here is what the reply said that I got just a little while ago... "Thank you for contacting us about Facebook Mobile sync issues on your HTC Incredible. We are aware of the issue, and are currently working toward a resolution. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for this issue. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you." Hopefully it doesn't take them too long to fix...

When I first received my Incredible, all the contacts synced just fine. Everyone in my People folder had their pictures and Facebook info in my contacts. One day everything disappeared and now there is nothing.
Whenever I go to refresh my Online Directories folder in the People section, it always says "Connection Error".

Has anyone else previously been able to get the contacts to sync? Then they disappear?

Yes, My Incredible would sync Facebook photos and such when I first got it. It crashed last week, and now I can't sync anything. I think updates had to do with it, both the crashing and now the not syncing.

So last night, all of a sudden, bam.... its working again. All my Facebook contacts are there and I'm able to sync them with my People folder. Weird.

There is a known issue with HTC and Facebook that started in 07/22/10. I have only had my Incredible for 2 days and I spoke to someone at Verizon about it. There is a software problem with the Facebook HTC Sence portion. I found it on the HTC forum. I emailed HTC and they said they are working on it for what it's worth.

I do not see the option to SYNC anywhere in my settings menu in FB on my Incredible...This was very simple on my BB and I am having serious probs on this DROID.

Where does this mythical "sync" option exist? Any help would be great.

SinCityDROID did you get it working?

This is what I did the other day & it worked:

Click on People (contacts), look for "globe" towards bottom of screen, tap & you'll get Online Directories, tap Facebook & if it is still working, it will sync, although from above, perhaps it's broken again.

If it does not automatically sync tap Menu > Refresh & see if Friends appear.

@SinCityDROID, the sync button you are looking for is not in the Facebook app itself. You want to look for the Facebook for HTC Sense in your phones settings menu, under "Accounts & Sync".
