Can't turn off wifi

I can't seem to turn off wifi. It automatically comes back on by itself.

What am I missing?

I have the power control widget on my desktop and it allows me to turn off wifi, bluetooth, etc.

You may have an application that's turning it on for some reason. Locale does it for mine.

Thanks. Shouldn't I be able to just turn it off without it turning itself back on?

I am using the basic widget in the phone to turn it off.

Where did you get the power control widget?

Goto "menu" "add to home" "widget"
"power control" and add it to an open home page
