So I unrooted my device and flashed the stock rom on it. For some reason I get an error when trying to update it to 4.4.2 or whatever version it's on now. It's on 4.2.2 right now.

Updating through the software update settings

Just thought about it. Should I flash the 4.3 update first before trying to update 4.4?

Think I'll try that, see if that works out

Let us know! That'd be my suggestion right now.

Downloading it on my PC right now. Host is gonna take 13hrs to download...so we'll see.

Want to see how this phone runs completely stock. Wasn't having much luck with ROMs for some reason.

Interesting. Mine ran well enough stock they my girlfriend was happy to replace her s3 with it when I got the note.

Yeah all the custom roms I ran for someone always gave me trouble with something. Most of the time it was just waking the device when the screen was off.

I figured I'd try to use a device that wasn't rooted anymore and since Lollipop is on the way, eventually, I'd just go back to stock.

Was thinking of selling it and leaving mdk on it though.

Not that I have any major need for it, but I downloaded & installed kies today after seeing it since so many problems here.
Glad you got er.

Excuse my ignorance due to lack of experience with Samsung but, what exactly is Kies?

No problem. Took me a while to figure it out myself when I returned to the forum & I'm in my third Samsung phone. Haha

Hah took me til now to remember about Kies. I had zero interest in using it before, but I'm once again tired of the ROM mods and everything. I do want root though to get rid of these darn ads though...

I'll just run this stock s4 for a few days, see if I like it. And heck, for all we know, Lollipop could be right around the corner for it.

And honestly, this very stock image ROM, has ran smoother than any other ROM I've used.

Could be quick if something leaks. By the looks of that video circulating, it runs pretty great on the s4.
