I rooted my X2 and lately I keep getting a message bugging me to update to 1.3.232.en.US. I looked it up online and it looks like it's an X2 (or at least motorola) specific update that has a few patches for various functions of the phone and updates you to gingerbread at the same time. SOme of the phone updates look pretty useful.

My wife has the same phone (not rooted) and she was able to update with one click. But when I try it says that the update failed.

What can I do. It won't stop buggin me to update, but I can't.

If I were u. I wouldn't update. The new update could ruin ur root and ur phone might become unrooteable just like gingerbread. Google the update and c if its rootable or a rooted version of the update.

If you are familiar with SBF-ing, I'm pretty sure the SBF for the X2 has been leaked, that will put you back to stock (losing your root, just like it came out of the box). You should be able to update without a hitch then.

Bear in mind that this will erase ALL of your data everything on your phone. Your SD card, if you have one, will be untouched and all files will remain intact.

So if I update I WILL be unrooted then? I don't know what SBF-ing is, but I'll look into it. Know of any good tutorials?
