Car Dock loose?

I am having a problem with the lever that is suppose to fasten/secure the dock onto my windshield and for some reason it doesnt seem to fasten when i click it. Does this mean i bought a defective one?

Any better non-oem alternatives?

i'm very impressed with the quality of the car dock. When you put the phone in, make sure you really press it down to seat it especially on the side where the usb connector is. Then pull the latch over the top. When my phone is in the dock there is zero play in the latch. The phone is in there really tightly.

I would say you have a defective one. Mine is tight and works great. In fact I think it's better that the one my wife has for her X. The part her phone sits in, the cradle I guess, is very easy to come off the part with the suction cup. The Thunderbolt one is great.
