Car Dock

Random Question, i couldnt find it answered anywhere. I have just root and installed froyo de-bloated on my wifes phone. But when she uses her car dock there is no apps linked to navigate and and maps. how do i link Google maps and navigate to those buttons on the car dock? is it even possiable?
any help would be great.
