Car Stereo (non wireless)

My aftermarket head unit only has a USB option (no 3.5). What do I need to play Pandora through it?

Something like this?
USB Audio Adapter Converter connect 3.5mm speaker headphone and use a cable with a 3.5 male on both ends to go from my phone to the adapter?

i wonder if a usb bluetooth adapter would work also
thing is, does the head unit treat the usb like a drive or a device.

I'm guessing that head unit is going to be looking for a mass storage device to access media files. Not likely going to work the way you want.
