Case mate barely there any good?

I currently have the case mate pop. FANTASTIC case, but makes it a little thick. For someone such as myself who has never dropped a phone, would you make a switch to the barely there that is minimal protection for that "what if" moment. In the youtube videos I saw, it snaps in easily, has anyone had an issue of it falling/coming off?

looking for a ratio of as thin as possible with decent protection. Any other recommendations?

I have the rubber case they sell at Verizon store it very thin and I have dropped my phone multiple times on concrete and tile and it just bounces off the ground like it nothing
