change gmail address

I would like to change my default droid gmail account. I understand that I will need to factory reset the phone. How do I transfer all my paid apps to my new account?

Not 100% sure if this works, but it's an idea. Open your gmail app. Hit menu > accounts. From there, hit the Add an Account button and try to delete your old account and set your new one as default. I only have 1 account so I didn't get to try this but it's just an idea.

Actually got to accounts and sync add new account, then go to original and remove. you should be good to go.

Just remember that your purchases on the market are tied to your Google account, if you've paid for any apps, you will lose access to them when you change primary accounts.

That's pretty ridiculous that you have no way to transfer paid apps. Drives me crazy when I have to repurchase things. I always feel like I'm being ripped off. I have no problems paying for software and supporting developers. I buy a lot of apps. I shouldn't have to buy the same apps over and over again. Google could fix this very easily by allowing us to change our gmail account in google checkout.
