Changing Battery/Notification Icons

Hey everyone. I don't know anyone who roots phones and don't want to do it myself so I'm stuck w/ just themes from GoLauncher w/ my own desgined lock screens and home pages. My question though is getting the battery icon changed at the top whether it just be any color other than green or a new design all together. Is this possible w/ any app or can it only be done w/ rooted phones??

I've tried looking for apps and done some simple Googling but really haven't came up w/ anything. Figured this would be my next stop. FWIW, I'm a Thunderbolt user.
