Changing from Mali-Touch to Swype

Does anyone know how to change from Multi-Touch to Swipe? I am having issues with the way I thought one was supposed to do it. I went to Settings/Language & Keyboards. Then I tried to select Swipe as my input method and the radio button for Swipe just kept being greyed out. Is there something I forgot to do?

Try running the Swype program itself... I think I remember it requiring a little setup/tutorial thing before it fully activates.
