Changing the way the text msging displays?

I am totally new to smartphones. I had my old phone for about 6 years until it finally died and I got a Razr M today. My mom has a smartphone...no idea what kind...and her texting looks like speaking bubbles. I tried texting today and it does work, but it doesn't seem to give me the option to make it look like the bubbles. I know this is just trivial but I like that look. The texting is just in rectangles and well, kind of ugly. Is there a way to make it look like the bubbles? I guess it's called threaded? I cannot find any settings that change this. Can anyone help?

You'd have to download a third party app. Try handcent or gosms from the play store.

Thanks so much! I got the GoSMS, and I do like it from what I can see so far. Now if I could only get my mom's iphone to get something like this...

GO is good. I never cared much for Handcent but that was a couple years back.
