Clear Text Message Default App

So I know I can clear the defaults for applications in the Settings->Manage Applications screen, but I can't find where I can clear the built in Text Message application defaults.

I accidentally set the built in app for my default text messaging, but I want to make Handcent the default. How can I clear this?

Go into the default Messaging app's settings and turn off Notifications and Auto-Retrieve and then remove the icon from your home screen.

Stop Text Message App alltogether

Is there a way to Stop Text messaging alltogether. I use the blacklist option in handcent frequently and Text messaging doesnt hide those texts
