Been frequenting these forums for over a year, so I guess my first post had to come sometime.

Was wondering if anyone else experiences the same click you can hear and feel in the phone when starting the camera or videocamera (or even a flashlight app such as Tesla LED). It seems to be caused by a ring around the lens pushing up against another piece of plastic but I am not totally sure. All I know is that the Verizon tech said it is normal ..I am not really buying that though, especially since my old DX never made that noise. Not that I make a habit of wailing my phone around, but there is even a rattle coming from the camera housing that goes away once the camera is active.

This is a replacement to my previous DX2, which made the noise as well.

Thanks for any heads up you can give me

Must be normal. Mine has done it since day one (had my X2 since June) and works fine. My guess is that it's something to do with the focusing mechanism.

I noticed it too. It was present in my Droid 3 and I think my D2G. I think its just the shutter activating.

Mine has never done that and I have never heard a rattle. There may have been a faulty batch of Droids that got through.

Its barely noticeable but yes mine does it too. I think its probably perfectly normal, it doesn't affect the picture quality so its not a problem to me, it probably has something to do with the camera powering up like a shutter opening on a regular camera.

Mine does it as well. So does a friend of mine's X2. I'd guess its just specific to the model.
