Clockworkmod doesn't detect SD

Half the time I try to go into recovery, clockwork recovery doesn't detect my SD card and like 10 seconds later, the phone reboots. After entering recovery a few times, it finally works...any idea on this? This has been happening since I got the phone

Shortly after the release of FROYO the developer suggested switching between CW and SPR. I'm not sure if that is still the case so here is a link http://www.droidforums.net/forum/koush/38233-real-time-irc-support-click-here.html to the developers IRC. The folks there may be able to help.
