.com button on virtual keyboard

I got a motorola droid about two weeks ago, a friend of mine has one.

his virtual keyboard has a '.com' button where mine has a microphone.

i've scoured the web and the phone itself looking for this and cannot find anything about it.

we both have the 2.1 update.

his girlfriend just got a new one and hers has the .com thing , too.

anyone have ANY answers??

i've watched tutorials, too and no one mentions it.

Thanks - I look forward to hearing from someone!

Are you both in the very same text entry dialog, for the same app? Mine changes from .com to a comma, to a microphone depending on app. If you're filling in the field for an email address, you'll see .com. A regular text entry field in an app that supports the voice to text, you'll see the mic. Some other apps you'll see the comma.

.com -

Thanks.

That was quick!

I'm not sure. I thought we both were on the google browser search page. I'll have to check. Thanks for responding!

I'll post after I see.
