Model number? Aren't they all the same? No every article just says the DROID 2 DROID 2global, DROID X, and DROID pro are getting at end of 3rd quarter. Just google it

the next page of the link from the moto forums i posted says that it will be end of the third quarter, at the latest. Motorolo, reportedly, has the gingerbread builds done for the droids and is waiting for Verizon to approve. Assuming Verizon doesn't drag their ass (which is quite the assumption), I would hope to see something over the summer rather than wait until the end of September.

If verizon pull lags on approving this update imma grab some gas, matches, and record my local verizon retail stores burning down lol.

Cell companies (and pretty much all companies) divide the calendar year into quarters - Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4. Each quarter is a block of three months, starting in January, which makes Q3 July - September. So sometime before October is what they anticipate for the Gingerbread update. It sounds to me like Motorola is done, or almost done, with the update, so it's all on Verizon to approve it and push it out.

That said, the last update solved nearly all of the issues with the Pro that I had. Battery life is fantastic, and it runs incredibly smooth. Not many flaws to put up with on the software side of things after that.
