Constantly in GPS mode

Today, my stock Droid has had the GPS transmit/receive icon on the entire day. The navigation app is not running though, what can I do to stop it? It is draining my battery.

Sometimes Google takes control, and if you dont let it finish before you close the browser, it will stay on indefinitely.

Either let it finish with the browser, or disable location for google.com in the browser settings.

I tried the browser fix, it did not help. i had to go settings> location & security> uncheck "use GPS satellites"

It could still have been the browser. I would revert that setting and try to get to the bottom of it.

This might be a suitable option.

Hoping you have astro, however you can use the applications manager ....

in astro go to menu, tools, process manager.

Go thru your running apps and kill ones that are not in use/open by you.

Or you can list them here, one of them is using the GPS ...
