Contacts are duplicating themselves

Bump

I view only Gmail and Facebook contacts. Periodically, some of my contacts have duplicated or even triplicated. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. Backup assistant is not synced, because in the past, I thought that was the culprit. Any ideas?

A friend of mine had this happen because he was syncing his contacts with FB. Contacts gone wild! This may be what's causing it.

Sadly no, this problem existed prior up my Facebook days. Thank you though.

Could it be that you have certain contacts on your phone and Google account?

Thank you. I just double checked. In view, I use my primary G mail account, and Facebook. I have zero phone contacts. This has never made sense to me!
