Contacts not showing up only facebook contacts are showing up

When I am trying to send a text message to people on my contacts list for some reason when I click on the "TO" section to begin entering a name to find them on my contacts, my droid cannot find people who I clearly have saved on there. It seems to only locate my friends or contacts who are connected to facebook. When I click on the meny icon it doesn't give me an option to sift through my contacts.

I know I could just open my contacts and choose the person but lets say I want to forward a message to someone. How can I get there contacts if its only pulling up my facebook contacts?

Go into your contacts, then hit the menu button and select "Display Options".

Where it says "Choose contacts to display" hit the one that is linked to your phones gmail account.

Once that opens, put a check mark on every box in there, then go take a look....

All of your contacts should show up.
