Contacts search not linking to contact info

I know that the whole, google search that can link to contacts, web, music, etc. is supposed to be helpful, but when I use it to search for contacts, it finds them, but won't link me to them. Every time I select it, it loads the contact info in the phonebook, but then instantly goes back to the search results. I don't know why this happens, but it does it with both google and phone contacts.

This is really frustrating, because there's no way to easily change the search button program. I couldn't find anyone else that seemed to be having this problem.

My phone is the Droid X with Android 2.2, not rooted, if that makes a difference.

Have you downloaded the latest version of Search from the Market (version 1.1.2.64376). This makes it easy to search "specific" areas (such as contacts).

Also, personally I have found it works much better to use the voice search for grabbing contacts that typing it in, but that may just be me.
