For the last few days almost all the talk has been about the soon-to-come Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which of course is warranted, since there are a ton of reasons to be excited about it. Still, we can't forget the other impressive Android that just came out, the Droid RAZR from Motorola. This new commercial doesn't really have any new info, but is a cool teaser, nonetheless. It's easy to let the phone get over-shadowed by the impending arrival of the Galaxy Nexus, but the Droid RAZR is still a remarkable feat of engineering, and I am sure several of our users have it and are quite happy with it.

Here's an interesting sidenote: I am pretty confident that the voice in the commercial is the actor, Lance Henriksen. Can anyone confirm or deny this? What do you guys think?

Definitely Lance Hendrickson. For those that don't know him he was the Android (artificial person) in the movie Aliens.

I'd love to get a RAZR but I can't bring myself to buy a phone with a locked bootloader :disappointed::sad-b:. Oh well, I guess there's always next week when yet another Android phone is likely to be released. :icon_ goofy: Maybe we need to start petitioning Verizon to stop requiring smartphones to have locked bootloaders.

Support the ROM devs, they're people too... I think...

I've never had nor played with an unlocked phone...what benefits does it give to the user? So far as I know it only allows you to flash a true custom rom (without needing 2nd Init) and replace kernels...

With a locked bootloader, you can stoll ROM and root and do all sorts of things and get 95% of the benefits of an unlocked phone. The flip side is that it is harder to brick a locked phone because you cannot modify the kernel and can just SBF it.

Wow, good call! I thought it wasn't him, so I Googled it and yeah he does tons of voice acting, and does the new Droid Razr commericals.

Who knew? Uh, well other than you? I mean,,,

Almost makes you wonder, is it just coincidence because he does a lot of voice acting, or is it because he played an Android. I just hope the next phone I get doesn't freak out on me and start spitting up milk...because that'd be pretty messy...
