copy and paste in e-mail?

So just switched from the Droid and I used to have the option to just hold down the "Shift" key and run my finger across some text and I had copy and paste. But now... no more shift key. Although now I am absolutely in love with how copy and paste is in the browser. But... does anyone know how to copy and paste in e-mail?

Looks like in Yahoo! It works great just like the browser. But not gmail...

They meed to get this working for gmail.
