Recently my Galaxy Nexus original battery died and since I plan to stay with the phone so just recievied a new from mpj. Now the phone feels fresh and brand new but I am wandering if the stock Google Shopping app can be uninstalled? It would crash and make errors every time I select it. Can’t find any uninstall option. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum

Unless you're rooted it can't be uninstalled. However, there may be more than one solution. Go to the app manager and scroll to all and find the Store app. Tell it to clear the cache, force stop and restart. If that doesn't help, remove the Google account, restart, then add it back in again. No harm done removing the account that way.

Also while there (settings/apps/all/play store) clear data and try again. You'll just have to re-sign in.
