current android version

All,

I have been deployed for 6 months. I am returning home in a few months and was wondering what the current version of software is out. am running 2.2 currently. I am not rooted and was going to take my phone back to stock before i get back (currently overloaded with games, video, and music). should I wait to get to the state and get an update (if theres one out) or is 2.2 the current version.

also if there is an update could someone send me the update so I can try to put it on my phone.

2.2 is the latest as of right now, word on the street is Motorola is going to be releasing an update soon!
