Custom Google Voice Notification

Has anyone found a way to add a custom Google Voice notification tone? It looks like its pulling from /system/media/audio/notifications, but I am unable to copy a new OGG file there. I tried creating a "notifications" directory under /sdcard/media/audio and putting it there but GV doesn't see it. That method works with a "ringtones" directory for phone apps.

Anyone know of a way?

No problems with custom GV notifications here. They're all in the Notifications folder on the SD card but all my notifications are MP3's, FWIW.
