Custom Ring tones - To long to ring?

So I have tried a few ring tones from a few different app sources - All custom mp3 ring tones including those that I've edited down to be VERY short take to long to RING - My phone starts ringing after the person calling me has heard the ringing 3-4 times - So I basically miss most calls.

I've gone back to the built in ring tones.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just a weakness/delay of the ERIS.

FYI: My voicemail picks up at 4.

That's an interesting problem. I've yet to encounter any delay on my DROID whilst using custom ring tones.

i have noticed this while i had someone call my phone while it was mis placed... It would ring like you said 3-4 times befor my phone would ring.. BUt once my phone would start ringing it would still ring for the normal length....

Interesting observation. now I'm going to have to call myself to see how long it takes for my tone to respond.

probably a network issues, mine starts ringing right away, 25 seconds later it goes to voicemail. So I only make my custom ringtones capped at 25 secs in length
