custom ringtones?

can not for the life of me figure out how to use custom ringtones on my razr hd? i tried using an app to place the ringtone but it still shows up as unknown ringtone and it dont use that tone.

I have a million ringtones and notifications. Connected to a PC I make a folder on my ext sd card called Media. Inside that I make 2 folders called Ringtones and Notifications. Anything placed there shows up in the correct menu from any app

get power amp , theres a setting to make anything a ringtone.or if rooted change the file to .ogg then drop it in media folder in system main folder.

power amp worked, thanks..... i just dont feel that i should have to have an app or hook to a computer to set a ringtone?! just a stupid flaw in the phone i guess.....
