Cyanogen has really began to make a name for themselves in emerging markets by being the OS on many lower cost handsets. One of my favorite devices this year is the Zuk Z1 which runs CyanogenOS 12.1. Today Cyanogen made several announcements concerning projects in the works for 2016.

First up Cyanogen will continue work on CyanogeMod 13. This is their build of Android Marshmallow. Cyanogen should have stable builds ready by the end of this year. Once CyanogenMod 13 is good to go they will focus on developing the Marshmallow build of CyanogenOS for retail products. The company's CEO Steve Klondik mentioned that Cyanogen may be looking to release a flagship device in 2016. They will also be releasing many lower end devices with a stock bloat free experience. The lower end devices are expected to release in the $75-100 range.

Sounds great. For some reason google maps gps was never accurate for me in devices I installed cyanogenmod but in fairness they were not official builds.
