With the release of TWRP for the RedMi Note 3 you can finally get rid of MIUI and replace it with a more traditional Android experience. CyanogenMod offers that more traditional experience with stock vanilla Android. The Lollipop version of CM "version 12.1" is now available for the Xiaomi RedMi Note 3.
It should be noted that this is not the official CM build and it is still a work in progress. So far the list of what is working includes Camera, Audio, RIL, Wifi, Bluetooth and most other basic stuff. Not working includes the fingerprint scanner and some other stuff. For now this is not suitable for daily driver use. You will need to be bootloader unlocked and have TWRP installed. Grab the download from the link below.
