D1 uses following retirement!!!

I know that GPS uses a data connection, but that's the google one. Even if we lose market access on the account, one could use it as a GPS system with an added software program (google maps need data). One could port any new files via WiFi or USB. My only question is, would we still be able to log into the D1 using our google account and at the same time keep the Bionic fully functional?

Or would we be able to somehow circumvent google log in altogether?

What uses could you think for your D1 following retirement?

The only thing you won't be able to do with your Droid is make a phone call and text. Unless of course you reactivate it. All data will still work so long as you have a wifi signal including the market. You will still be able to get the app updates. Just put the phone in airplane mode when you aren't moving data, it will help keep the battery alive.
