I was Mistaken, it isn't Gingerbread, Just an OTA for bug fixes

The droid 2 was the flagship phone when it came out and it was the first phone to ship with froyo. They did a huge press conference when they released the d2. There have been motorola built leaks of gingerbread. It is a really dumb business move for Verizon to be so secretive about it, but relax and enjoy your phone, gingerbread is coming.

I doubt it. The leak proved that motorola was at least working on gingerbread. Why wouldn't they release it in a few weeks when its finished?

i tried the leaked GB it was ok but had a lot of bugs. I hope it does come out soon because there was a lot about GB i loved but didnt want to throw away being stable.

I just wondering if they are making a R2D2 update or am i stuck forever. Just because D2 and D2G get the update doesnt mean they are going to go out of their way to make a R2D2/StarWars themed version. Sigh. *Crosses fingers*

The R2D2 is the same as the D2, only with a Star Wars theme.

i know that but i like my starwars stuff. When i tried the GB leak i had to erase it all and when i tried to restore the starwars stuff it didnt work but on half the apps. i lost all the wallpapers. and when i tried to restore the ringtones over half were corrupted. SO i just SBF back to 2.2 then restored by backup of R2D2.

That's too bad. I doubt there will be a Star Wars themed version of Gingerbread released just for the R2 though, unless someone codes one.
